Using Outlook with VOS Emails

The following instructions provide information on how to use Microsoft Outlook Express to handle your VOS listserve emails by putting all of them in a specific folder. If you have technical questions, please contact Eric Thompson.

  1. First Create a new folder by clicking on FILE -> FOLDER -> NEW.

  2. Enter VOS in the Folder name box and click on Local Folders. Then click OK.

  3. Now that you have created a folder, click on TOOLS -> MESSAGE RULES -> MAIL.

  4. In the first box select:
    Where the Subject line contains a certain specific words.
    In the second box select:
    Move it to the specified folder.
    In the third box it should say:
    Apply this rule after the message arrives
    Where the Subject line contains specific words
    Move it to the specified folder
    In the fourth box type:
    VOS

    Then click on the blue typing "contains specific words"
    Fill in [Vos]
    click on Add and then OK

    Click on the blue "Specified" in — Move it to the specified folder
    Choose the VOS folder and click OK

    Then finally click OK

  5. Then you should see the screen and click OK again.

  6. Now all email that has to do with the VOS will automatically go to the VOS folder.
